Fuel tanks shall be provided with an expansion space of not less than 2 percent of the tank capacity, unless the tank vent discharges clear of the aircraft in which case no expansion space will be required. It shall not be possible inadvertently to fill the fuel tank expansion space when the airplane is in the normal ground attitude.
