(OEI)
(a) For Category A rotorcraft, in the critical take-off confi guration exi sting al ong the take-off path, the following apply:
(1) The st eady rat e of cl imb without ground effect, 61 m (200 ft ) above t he take-off surface, m ust be at least 30 m (100 ft) per minute, for each weight, altitude, and temperature for which take-off data are to be scheduled with:
(i) The critical engine inoperative and t he rem aining engi nes wi thin approved operat ing l imitations, except that for rotorcraft for which the use of 30- second/2-minute OEI power is requested, only the 2-minute OEI power m ay be used in sh owing co mpliance with th is paragraph;
(ii) The landing gear ext ended; and
(iii) The tak e-off safety sp eed selected by the applicant.
(2) The st eady rat e of cl imb without ground effect, 305 m (1 000 ft) above t he take-off surface, m ust be at least 46 m (150 ft) per minute, for each weight, altitude, and temperature for which take-off data are to be scheduled with:
(i) The critical engine inoperative and the remaining engi nes at m aximum continuous power i ncluding cont inuous OEI power, i f approved, or at 30-minute OEI power for rotorcraft for which certification for use of 30-m inute OEI power is requested;
(ii) The landing gear retracted; and
(iii) The sp eed selected b y th e applicant.
(3) The steady rate of clim b (or descent), in feet per minute, at each altitude and temperature at which the rotorcraft is expected to operate and at each weight within the range of wei ghts for whi ch cert ification i s requested, must be determined with:
(i) The critical engine inoperative and the remaining engi nes at m aximum continuous power i ncluding cont inuous OEI power, if approved, and at 30-minute OEI power for rotorcraft for which certification for t he use of 30-m inute OEI power is requested;
(ii) The landing gear retracted; and
(iii) The sp eed selected b y th e applicant.
(b) For m ulti-engine Categ ory B rotorcraft meeting t he C ategory A engi ne isolation requirements, the steady rate of climb (or descent) must be determined at the speed for best rate of climb (or minimum rate of descent) at each altitude, tem perature, an d weig ht at wh ich th e rotorcraft is ex pected to o perate, with th e critical engine i noperative and t he rem aining engi nes at maximum cont inuous power i ncluding cont inuous OEI power, i f approved, and at 30-minute OEI power for rotorcraft for which certification for the use of 30-minute OEI power is requested.
