§29.301 Loads

(a) Strength requirements are specified in terms o f lim it lo ads (th e m aximum lo ads to be expected in service) an d u ltimate lo ads (lim it loads m ultiplied b y p rescribed facto rs of safety). Unless otherwise provided, prescri bed l oads are limit loads. (b) Unless ot herwise provi ded, the specified air, ground, and water loads m ust be placed in equilibrium with inertia forces, considering each item of mass in the rotorcraft. These loads must be distributed t o cl osely approximate or conservatively represent actual conditions. (c) If deflections under l oad woul d significantly change t he distribution of external or internal loads, th is red istribution m ust b e tak en into account.
