For parts whose strength is subject to appreciable variability due to uncertainties in manufacturing processes and inspection methods, the factor of safety shall be increased sufficiently to make the probability of any part being under-strength from this cause extremely remote. Minimum variability factors (only the highest pertinent variability factor need be considered) are set forth in §§ 3.304 3.306.
