This part establishes standards with which compliance shall be denionstrated for the issuance of and changés to type certificates for normal, utility, and acrobatic category airplanes: This part, until superseded or rescinded, shall apply to all airplanes for which applications for type certification under this part were made between the effective date of this part (November 13, 1945) and March 31, 1953. For applications for a type certificate made after March 31, 1953, this part shall apply only to airplanes which havea maximum weight of 12,500 pounds or less.
